Our story so far.
Volk Handcrafted
Born from Scrap. Built with Purpose.
I didn’t grow up with a safety net. Raised in an orphanage, you learn early on that if you want something in this life, you either build it yourself or you do without.
By 13, I was piecing together a broken-down Triumph Thunderbird from a pile of scattered parts. She wasn’t pretty, but she was mine. The only problem was I needed saddlebags to haul my gear, and I didn’t have a spare cent to buy them.
So, I adapted. I got my hands on some scrap leather, picked up a needle, and taught myself how to cut, punch, and stitch. That first rough set of bags opened up the road. Word spread among local riders, and soon I was stitching saddlebags and tool rolls around the clock. By 15, the work of my own two hands bought me my very first Harley-Davidson.
A Journey of Purpose & Service
Life is rarely a straight line. I started an apprenticeship as a spray painter, started a family, and navigated my fair share of twists and turns.
Growing up with nothing leaves a mark—it gives you a deep, restless desire to make sure others don’t feel abandoned. That drive led me to university to earn a Bachelor of Theology, eventually becoming an ordained minister. For years, my focus shifted from working with my hands to serving people, walking alongside folks through their hardest seasons, and offering support where it was needed most.
Full Circle at the Bench
**Forty years after stitching that first set of saddlebags, the bench called me back.**
Today, every piece I make carries the weight of that journey—the self-reliance of the kid in the orphanage, the precision of a spray painter, and the heart of a minister who values honest connection and real stewardship.
I don’t mass-produce, and I don’t cut corners. Whether it’s a **biker wallet** built to survive a lifetime on the open road, a **rugged journal cover** for your own life story, a **solid leather belt**, or a **hand-stitched pen cover**, every item is crafted with purpose, patience, and four decades of living.
Built by hand. Guided by purpose. Made for the long haul.
